Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.”

We remember this evening through taking communion, but the Last Supper is also the moment when empty promises were made and the betrayal had begun. However, God used those broken promises to set the stage for Peter to be forgiven and stand as an example for all of us. Do you feel like you’ve failed God? This week reminds us that God can use our failures to fulfill His ultimate purposes. |
