Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.– Philippians 4:6 (NIV)
Today’s commentary by Dave Whitehead, Author of Making Sense of the Bible
We’re very familiar with anxiety, but how familiar are we with peace? Just when we get comfortable with one season of our lives we are thrust into the next, where we find our bearings have to change. Prayer guides us into the seasons of life that we don’t understand because God’s peace transcends all understanding. To approach anxiety with thanksgiving and prayer may seem hard, but it reminds us that we were never in control to begin with. We have a Heavenly Father who sees all things and cares for us. Prayer pulls down our anxieties and fills us with supernatural peace.
