Finally answered...
By Dr. Lawrence Wilkes, Crystal Cathedral Pastor
"Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for You."
-Psalm 25:21
God doesn't always answer our prayers right away. Sometimes it takes time.
When I first became a Christian many years ago, my mother became a Christian at the same time. After making that decision for Christ, we shared the Good News and God's love with my brother, but he remained skeptical about the faith.
My mother and I prayed for my brother to come to Christ consistently for decades and showed him Christ's love in every way possible. Then, twenty-five years after our own conversions, my brother was going through a very difficult time in his life. In need of a loving Father, the seed of faith planted so many years before finally took root, and he came to Christ. When he made his profession of faith, our prayers for my brother were finally answered.
Don't be discouraged if it takes time for God's love and grace to become real and meaningful in another person's life. An attitude of prayer, always giving thanks to God and asking him to fulfill needs in our own lives and the lives of others, is important. There is no one who loves us more than our heavenly Father does. He hears our prayers.
Prayer: Dear Lord, strengthen my faith as I wait on your answer to my longtime prayer. I know you have the best future awaiting my loved ones and me. My hope is in you. Amen.
