When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
– Luke 2:15 (NIV)
Today’s commentary

Instead of just sitting in wonder over angelic visitations that filled the skies with worship, the shepherds took action—they immediately went to find Jesus Christ. It is one thing to have a spiritual experience, but the goal of an experience is to take action. We often fall short of the shepherds, because we don’t see experiences for what they are—signs that point us to Jesus Christ, for when God gets our attention He expects us to do something about it.
