Don't Presume November 18, 2023“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Matthew 7:1,2 Dallas Willard said good leaders don’t presume, don’t pretend, and don’t push. I want to look at what it means to not presume when we lead. When Jesus taught us not to judge lest we be judged, we often interpret it to mean that we shouldn’t make judgments about others, because if we do, God will make a judgment about us. But perhaps in teaching us not to judge, our Father was trying to spare us the pain of being judged by our friends and neighbors in return... |

| The #1 Reason You're Not Fulfilled This Week's EpisodeThis week, Pastor Bobby teaches us from Luke 12:22-31 and shares that there’s no limit to how much provision God has for you. Wherever God is, provision is, with today’s message: “The #1 Reason You’re Not Fulfilled.” Our interview guest is Lee Strobel, a former investigative journalist who professed atheism for many years while searching for evidence of Jesus. Upon finding the answers he was looking for, he became a Christian and subsequently wrote the best-selling book, The Case for Christ. Since then, he has authored dozens more books and has also become a teaching pastor and professor who wants the world to know the Lord. His new book, Is God Real?: Exploring the Ultimate Question of Life, helps answer some of the hardest questions from not only skeptics, but believers, about God’s existence. Special music is provided by the Voices of Hope Children's Choir, a group of 1st through 12 graders — under the direction of Sarah Grandpre — who perform "You Say" and "Brighter Day." Then, the Hour of Power Choir, under the direction of Dr. Irene Messoloras, performs "No Time," accompanied by Dr. Phillip Hoch on the piano. We hope you'll join us for an hour of hope and inspiration! |

| As For Me and My House, We Will Serve the Lord Be blessed by this Hour of Power classic We're going back in time to June 4,1989, when Dr. Robert Schuller, our founding pastor, invited his wife Arvella for a very touching and heartwarming interview. In addition to their time together, Dr. Schuller welcomed musical guests Hillary Johnson (soprano) and Lynne Davis (organist). He also preached a moving sermon called "As For Me and My House, We Will Serve the Lord." Although this message was given nearly 35 years ago, its subject is equally as pertinent today!
Thanks again for walking down memory lane with us and for being such a special part of our Hour of Power family. Remember, as always, God loves you and so do we! |
