One of the important things to consider when starting to study a biblical book is when it was written—it’s helpful to position it in relation to other books and what was going on at the time.
For most books, there are discussions and debates about their dates! One helpful way to see the date ranges suggested is by using the Bible Books Explorer tool that shows the different dating suggestions presented in a range of reference books.
As well as providing this summary information, it provides links directly to the reference books so you can further explore this yourself.
The video below gives an overview on how to use the tool and the information it provides.
