The shroud of mystery surrounding the commission of Mozart’s Requiem, including his untimely death mid-composition, have made the work all the more intriguing and soul-stirring. Originally commissioned by an “unknown, gray stranger,” the score later became immortalized in modern pop culture as the centerpiece of the film Amadeus.
Additional seats have been released for the Washington National Cathedral Choir & Orchestra's performance of Mozart’s choral masterpiece Requiem on September 29 at 4 pm. This program is accompanied by The Deer’s Cry and Berliner Messe by Estonian composer Arvo Pärt.
Livestream tickets available.
