Prayer Request

Hello All,

I have a difficult prayer request. John has a dear friend - Steve B. They have been friends for many years, they were college students together.

Last week Steve asked John to take him to a doctor's appointment and sit with him through the appointment. John was deeply saddened by what he saw. Steve has cancer, it appears to be advanced, and he might weigh 100 lbs. Steve has a wife and a step son. That is the limit of my knowledge.

What follows is the difficult aspect of this request. John, Susan and I texted back and forth about prayers for Steve and his family. I suggested John ask Steve if it was permissible for us to pray for him. His response was, "Whatever."

It seems we have numerous prayer avenues:
Steve - Pray Jesus you soften Steve's heart and open his eyes to your love and truth. May the Holy Spirit work in Steve that he might find eternal life through faith in Jesus. [John 14:6] "I am the way and the truth and the life ..." [James 1:5] "If any of you lacks wisdom he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to him."
Steve's Family - Lord, during these challenging times help me to lean on you and not be overwhelmed by uncertainty or fear. We know you work in all things for my good.

Thank you and may God bless you all. Love, hank

Dang - Almost forgot an update. We have been praying for Sharon and her cancer. Maha, who sees her regularly, reports that Sharon is on a medicine that has had positive results in others and she, Sharon, is feeling better.

I know the clinic where Sharon is a patient. It is new and its focus is only on treating cancer and hematology. It is a one stop clinic which will provide for all aspects of a patient's care. The docs are off the charts smart; Sharon is in good hands. Please continue your prayers for Sharon and all those who participate in her treatment and well-being.

Thanks, h
