Peter, I received some news just a bit ago that instantly brought to mind a verse from the book of James:
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
That phrase, “Father of the heavenly lights,” reminds me that the God who made the sun, moon, and stars with just a spoken word is more than capable of providing for our needs!
I thought of this verse because someone presented us with a $500,000 matching gift to help inspire others to become monthly partners in the good work God is doing here.
That means if a new monthly donor offers to give $20 a month, their monthly gift will be doubled to $40 for an entire year.
I’m not going to ask you to become a monthly supporter today, because I want you to pray about it first. It’s important to me to know that those who partner with Hour of Power are doing so with the Lord’s guidance and blessing.
That said, will you take some time to talk to Him about this? If you are married, talk to your spouse as well. In a couple of weeks, I will email you again with a request to help us take advantage of this incredible matching gift.
For now, let’s meditate on how faithful God is, how every good and perfect gift comes from Him, and how He doesn’t change like shifting shadows.
I know from experience — and from the promises of God’s Word — that as you and I trust in Him, He will not fail to provide for our needs— whether the needs of this ministry or of our personal lives.
