This Week At Crossroads I 04.06.2023

EASTER IS COMING
Easter morning revealed an empty tomb because Jesus had risen from the grave. The two women who first made the discovery had a choice to make. Do they trust the good news or do they ignore the evidence in front of them? The resurrection of Jesus was good news that changed the lives of the disciples and by their impact, the world. We have the same choice to make as the woman did. When we choose faith, we are found “in Christ” and our lives are made new.  Invite someone to join you to our Easter Sunday Worship gathering to tell the story and discover how we can respond to this good news.

SCRIPTURE TEXTS
Matthew 28:1-10
2 Corinthians 5:17
Romans 10:9
HUDDLE/DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
  1.  What is one thing that stood out to you from this week’s message?
  2. How do you think the women were feeling when they came to the tomb Easter morning? How do you think they felt when they left?
  3. Why do you think confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised him from the dead is required in order to be made new? What does it mean to be “in Christ”?
  4. Why do you think we have to become new creations in order to experience the fullness of Christ?
  5. What are some old ways of living that God needs to take from us? What are some new ways of living that God needs to manifest in our lives?

That's how many unchurched Americans said they would accept a personal invitation to an Easter service!

That's why this is the perfect time to invite your friends, neighbors, and coworkers to join you for Easter at Crossroads.

We know that asking others to come to church with you can feel daunting, so here are a few tips to help make feel it less awkward:

1. Talk about non-church things

People want to know you care about them, not their church-attending status! Ask them about their family, hobbies, etc. Invest in the relationship so that they know you care.

2. Make it personal

While sharing posts on social media can be very helpful, nothing will have the same impact as a personal, face-to-face invitation! Let them know the service times, and ask if/when they'd like to join you!

3. Use Social Media!

If who you’re inviting is on the fence or a little forgetful, give them an invitation card. Send them this EASTER SUNDAY INVITE LINK from our Facebook page or simply create one of your own.
PURCHASE EASTER LILY TODAY IS THE LAST DAY
Every year for Easter, we decorate our sanctuary with flowers -- and we welcome donations toward the purchase of these flowers. For each $10 donation toward purchasing these flowers, you may take the lily following the Easter celebration, or you can leave it and someone from our Care Team deliver it to someone in need of care.

To make a donation online, visit Easter Lily Purchase and complete the form.  You can also call the church office at 480-849-2465 with any questions.

SUNDAY APRIL 9, 2023

Jesus commands his followers to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19). This is not a polite suggestion; it is a command from Jesus which he gives as his "last words" before his ascension into heaven! Baptism Sunday is a public event for the whole family of God to celebrate! If you would like more information concerning baptism or you are ready to be baptized or affirm your baptism, contact Pastor Charles
