IN EVERY SITUATION
Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Work, school, home life, relationships, finances, health concerns…and that’s not counting the daily news headlines from around the world.
Sometimes our lives feel like more than we can handle, and taking on the worries of the world—war, natural disasters, poverty, political upheaval—is more than our hearts and minds can bear.
When it feels like the weight of the world is on your shoulders, lift up your hands in prayer and set that weight down; ask God to carry it for you.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
—Philippians 4:6–7
Every single situation that threatens, confuses, or overwhelms you has the same right answer: PRAYER.
Today is the National Day of Prayer. Would you join us in praying together right now, silently or out loud?
Heavenly Father, you are a good God. Thank you for loving us so much you sent your Son Jesus to die for us. We pray you will bring peace in places of unrest, provision where there is hunger, and that you will restore health of mind, body, and spirit where it is lacking. Be present in our lives, and may your loving presence be felt worldwide by those in need of a Savior. In Jesus’ name, amen.
