Hello Peter,
Contrary to what some might think, faith isn’t a magical force field that keeps difficulties away. In the journey of life, all of us encounter seasons of hardship and confusion that leave us feeling uncertain and adrift. But these are precisely the times that we must hold on to the assurance that God is actively at work. He is always orchestrating His plans with purpose and meaning, even when we cannot fully comprehend His ways.
I don’t know if you are experiencing such a time right now, but if so, be encouraged Peter!
Faith is not the absence of difficulties, but the unwavering belief that God is present and working in every circumstance. When faced with trials and uncertainty, we are called to trust, because God’s good plan for us is beyond our understanding. This mindset only comes from daring to believe that God means what He says in His unchanging Word.
As we navigate through the storms of life, we find comfort and guidance in the wisdom of Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
The challenges you face might seem overwhelming, and the path ahead may appear foggy and unclear, but you can be certain that God’s wisdom surpasses your limited human perspective. He sees the bigger picture, and through every twist and turn, He is leading you toward His abundant blessing and higher purpose. Do not lose heart, for the Holy Spirit is working behind the scenes, weaving every circumstance together for your ultimate good.
Think about Joseph in the Bible. Sold into slavery by his own brothers, falsely accused and imprisoned, his dreams seemed shattered, and it appeared as though God had abandoned him. Yet, in the Lord’s perfect timing, Joseph was elevated to a position of authority in Egypt, and his path ultimately led to the rescue of his family and an entire nation from famine. Joseph’s words to his brothers in Genesis 50:20 beautifully capture his unwavering faith in God’s redemptive power: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”
Just like with Joseph, God often uses our most challenging circumstances to bring about His divine purposes. Our faith enables us to perceive His hand at work, transforming what appears to be broken into something beautiful.
Peter, as you encounter difficult and confusing times, you can approach each day with a renewed sense of faith and hope. Trust that God is present in every moment, working all things together for your good. Seek His guidance through prayer, immerse yourself in His Word, and surround yourself with a community of believers who can uplift and encourage you on this journey.
And know you aren’t alone. Your Hour of Power family is right here, standing with you and praying for you.
God loves you and so do I,
Bobby Schuller |
