Critical Relief Supplies Airlifted to Flood Victims in Ukraine
Samaritan's Purse deployed its DC-8 aircraft this morning to transport more than 40,000 pounds of urgently needed relief supplies to southern Ukraine after a major dam was severely damaged near the frontlines of the war. Tens of thousands of people were forced to flee the massive flooding that followed, resulting in shortages of drinking water, destroyed homes, and the threat of landmines washing into neighborhoods.
“As the war in Ukraine continues to bring suffering, destruction, and death, my heart breaks for the families who are caught in this crisis. And now thousands of families are dealing with the disaster of this severe flooding. We are sending these life-saving supplies in Jesus' Name and want to remind the people of Ukraine that they have not been forgotten by God. Please pray for an end to this war and for our staff and partners who are working around the clock to minister to those affected by this flooding.” —Franklin Graham
Evacuations are ongoing, and Samaritan's Purse is supporting local partners who are conducting water rescues for flood-stranded families while also distributing food, blankets, and other critical relief items. Since the war began more than a year ago, Samaritan's Purse has provided food, water, medical care, shelter materials, and more to over 9 million people.
Please pray earnestly for those affected by the flooding and that God will soon bring peace.
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
