A message from our partner:
Refugees arrive by bus to the Nuba Mountains. Right now, Sudan is facing its worst humanitarian crisis of the last century. As two factions within the Sudan Islamist Military establishment are locked in a deadly power struggle, thousands of innocent civilians in Khartoum, as well as in Darfur and North Kordofan, have already perished. Many thousands of other Sudanese are making the dangerous journey down to Southern Kordofan’s Nuba mountains. Some observers suggest as many as 500,000 Nuba may try to flee and seek refuge in their ancestral home of Southern Kordofan within the next several weeks. Your generous gifts allow the Persecution Project to respond! Some observers suggest as many as 500,000 Nuba may try to flee and seek refuge in their ancestral home of Southern Kordofan within the next several weeks. We’re sending in emergency shelter tarps for refugee families and also equipping our repair teams with more spare parts to get broken hand-pump wells working again providing safe, clean water. We need to build an Ark to help our brothers and sisters weather this current flood of violence and persecution. There is still an opportunity to position life-saving medicines, shelter tarps and other crisis relief supplies in the Nuba. But the clock is ticking. Seasonal rains are on the way and that will make it much harder to move people and supplies within the Nuba. Thank you for your prayers for Sudan and for your part in helping us respond to this crisis. Thank you! Sincerely, Brad Phillips |
