A Prayer against Racism By Emma Danzey "Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”'" - Mark 12:29-31 No matter where we are in the world, the adverse effects of racism are evident. There is partiality and prejudice in every town. Whether it is cultural differences, family heritage, or physical genetics, people can be easily persuaded to create barriers between others who are different. As believers in Jesus, we attempt to model Christ in how we live. God commands us to show love to our neighbors and all people. |
