Who Is a Leader?
August 26, 2023

"He chose capable men from all Israel and made them leaders of the people, officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens." Exodus 18:25

It’s easy to believe that leaders are those who have been given a position or title granting them a measure of authority in a specific area or over a certain group. The truth, however, is that all Christians are called to lead. How? In the same manner Jesus did — by being a servant. To make it simple, leadership is influence, and as we sow ideas and actions into the world, our goal is to make the Lord visible to others so they want to know more about Him and receive His life into theirs.

Investing in Yourself Is a Gift to Others
This Week's Episode

This week, Pastor Bobby encourages us from Matthew 14:22-27 and teaches us to invest in ourselves and see it as one of the most charitable and kind things we can do for the people who live life with us, with his message: “Investing in Yourself is a Gift to Others.” Our interview guest is Lydia McLaughlin, an author and television personality who appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County for a few years. She often shared her faith on the show, but after some challenging seasons on television, she felt called to leave and minister through writing books and leading Bible studies, which she still does today. Special music is provided by Jennifer Rockett, a worship leader from Los Angeles, whose had the wonderful opportunity of singing for a host of organizations, ministries and events and is happy to join the Hour of Power worship experience. Today, she performs “Holy Spirit," and then is joined by the Hour of Power Worship Team — featuring Sarah Grandpre, Erin Wood, Rory Deming and Fernando Munoz — on “Raise a Hallelujah." Both performances are accompanied by the Hour of Power Orchestra, directed by Dr. Marc Riley. Finally, the Hour of Power Choir, directed by Dr. Irene Messoloras, performs “Lead, Kindly Light/Amen."
