This livestreamed panel discussion, moderated by John Stonestreet, will feature R.R. Reno, Ph.D., editor at First Things, and Hunter Baker, J.D., Ph.D., dean of arts and sciences and professor of political science at Union University. They will help us to better understand the confusing topic of Christian Nationalism and provide a clear and hopeful understanding of citizenship from Scripture and Christian tradition. The panel will be followed by a Q&A.
Russell R. Reno, Ph.D., is the editor of First Things, a conservative, Christian magazine that discusses public religious philosophy to influence society. He completed his Ph.D. in Religious Ethics at Yale University in 1990 and taught at Creighton University until accepting a full-time position at First Things in 2010. He is the author of several books, including Return of the Strong Gods: Nationalism, Populism and the Future of the West and his most recent, The End of Interpretation: Reclaiming the Priority of Ecclesial Exegesis.
Hunter Baker, J.D., Ph.D., is the dean of arts and sciences and professor of political science at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. He is a columnist for World Opinions, a contributing editor for Touchstone: A Journal of Mere Christianity, and the author of several books. His most recent contributions were in Baptist Political Theology and Social Conservatism for the Common Good.
John Stonestreet serves as president of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview. He’s a sought-after author and speaker on areas of faith and culture, theology, worldview, education and apologetics.
