Logos Tech Tip | Explore grammatical roles with a clause search
The general structure of many sentences is that of a subject, verb, and object and it can be very interesting to see where particular individuals act (as subject) towards someone else (the object).
And the Logos Clause Search provides a great way to do this. These searches run against Logos datasets based on specific books:
Select one of these and run a clause search with the form Subject:xxx Object:yyy to find all the places where one person acts on/toward another. For example, to find clauses where God is the subject and Jesus is the object, use Subject:God Object:Jesus
And you can add translations into the search window so you can see the results in your own language as well.
In addition to being available at the links above, each of the required datasets is included in the Logos 10 Bronze Feature Upgrade or higher.
