As I was walking home, I stopped to pick up a stick off the ground, and before I knew it, I found myself struggling to keep my head above the rising water. Suddenly, a figure grasped my hand with surprising strength, pulling me from the currents and restoring me to solid ground. It did not speak, but its serene presence conveyed more than words could. I knew that I was in the presence of an angel, but before I knew it, the figure had vanished as quickly as it had appeared. I remain convinced to this day that an angel saved my life! I do not doubt that angels walk among us, often unseen and unrecognized. Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians perfectly encapsulates this notion: "For we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7).  Walking by faith means accepting that there are forces beyond our comprehension, and it is this faith that allows me to embrace my experience as a genuine encounter with the divine.
