| LA WILDFIRES RESPONSE | |
| Help provide urgent relief | |
| Multiple wildfires across parts of the greater Los Angeles area have burned thousands of acres, leaving 24 dead and placing over 153,000 people under evacuation orders. The fires are the most destructive in LA history, enveloping the city in smoke and ash and causing widespread power outages. Firefighters are stretched thin, and the city’s water system is overwhelmed as fires continue to spread in five different areas.
Help families impacted by these fires and other disasters in the U.S.
World Vision is responding immediately to the LA wildfires, partnering with a growing number of local churches and organizations to deliver emergency essentials for displaced families. We’ve dispatched nine truckloads of emergency relief supplies, including water, food, air beds, face masks, hygiene kits, bedding, coolers, and children’s toys, to be distributed through church and other local partners, including the Dream Center.
Our staff continues to monitor the situation and is preparing additional aid at World Vision Storehouse locations around the country to meet needs — with the generous support of donors like you. | |

| How to help | |
| • Pray for all those affected by the wildfires, including those who are evacuating their homes and those who are responding to the emergency. | |
| “I have been up all night helping friends evacuate the fires in Pasadena, CA. They are raging and still out of control. At 11 p.m. I was pushing an 80-year-old down the road in their hospital bed looking for transport for them from their senior assisted living center.” —John Schroer of Global Health Exchange on January 8 | |
